I decided to finally work after 3 months from Graduation for the reason that I want to know how to be Independent and earn on my own risk. Do I recommend studying HRM: In terms of Employment opportunities, yes I can recommend this course because of this versatility and I think number one job in the world is services. Management Skills and Hospitality skills is being catered in the said program which can be used anywhere.

In terms of Salary Level, I recommend to have a degree with titles. Engineer, Lawyers, Doctors, if you really want to have a high salary, but make sure you love and enjoy what you do.

That's an important factor also, everyone wants to earn I understand, but if you don't enjoy what you're doing, need to think again. Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: For those who are considering studying this program, I can just say enjoy the journey of being a student and every journey is a learning process for you to be equipped for the real world, which is after College.

Everything is not easy but always remember that you have your professors to guide you along the way, and they will never harm you. Just be considerate and do your part as a student and the prize is waiting at the end of the line, which is the graduation day. About my college education: My education during college was a great experience. For me, it's time management, study well on all the subjects and do my extra curricular activities as well possible. My current job: Now, I am residing in Milan, Italy.

Of course, living and working Overseas is very different and hard. You have to do all the jobs, whether it's a blue or white collar job you will do that. I can say that I am very fortunate on my job in the Philippines. Am I using what I learned in college: Actually, learning's from the school is a basic fundamentals and also the values and teachings earned from the school.

As a fresh graduate don't make a high expectations because it's natural that you must gain first experience and prove yourself in the company.

My Uncle works as a chef at a 3 star hotel abroad, knowing it I aimed to work at a hotel also. About my college education: The assignments, projects and exams were not that difficult if you just give time for it. I had difficulty at only one subject and it was algebra. Glad to say that most of us passed but only few had high grades. Maybe if I have given it my best I could be one of the top students. My current job: I just resigned from my work.

My past occupation was as an assistant chef at Chicken savory. Our job was to meet the needs and satisfaction of the customers. We chefs ensure that customers have a memorable eating experience at Chicken savory. But in work I get to learn more practical ways in cooking and in customer service. All the lessons and knowledge passed on to us, I get to enhance it all at work.

How long did it take to find a job: I was already working when I was still at 3rd year college. I was a working student. I worked as a waiter and kitchen crew on diffirent eateries and restaurants just to financialy support my studies. After graduating I finally had my full time occupation at KFC as a full time waiter.

Do I recommend studying HRM: I recommend this course for people who would like to work as a hotel or restaurant manager. Graduating at this course gives a higher chance of opportunity to work abroad. I believe it is also fit for people who has good managing and leadership skills. Many opportunities will open for HRM graduates in the future. As I remembered managers earn like P20, - P25, a month. Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: I advice them to take the course of HRM on a better university but if financially trouble then Davao Winchester Colleges is not a bad idea as well.

In the end what matters most is the education you attained. Why did I choose HRM: I love this course because I enjoy working in a hotel or restaurant, or any place where there is food and entertainment. I grew up being exposed to different places where there are lots of fun and interesting things to learn so I typically prefer a kind of job that will also allow me to enjoy the work and improve myself at the same time.

Also, this is a course that is in demand not only locally but even abroad. Being a staff in a 5-star hotel is almost like a dream of a lifetime for me so I somehow depended on this course to give me that ticket towards achieving that dream of a lifetime. About my college education: The difficult subjects were accounting and math both involve numbers which reflect that I am not really a fan of anything that pertains to calculations.

As for the enjoyable parts, I really loved the subjects that are related to catering and cooking. There is actual demonstration of the cooking of local as well as international cuisines and the students go on practicum in hotels and restaurants in Davao City. This was the fun part in my course, being able to go from one hotel to another and discover what they have to offer in terms of food and services. My current job: My job now is a service crew and cashier of a food establishment in one of the biggest malls in Davao City.

Am I using what I learned in college: There was a good practicum and training and I learned a lot on preparing a social function with catering as well as food preparations for all occasions. How long did it take to find a job: It took only a week for me to get employed after graduation.

I was a bit lucky that there was an opening and I was chosen from the many other applicants to this position. Do I recommend studying HRM: I highly recommend this course for people like me who are in love with food, good places, and yearn for a fulfilling and interesting career, whether locally or internationally. This is for the people who dream high, work hard and want to explore the world in all it's goodness as you also have a chance to travel if you are assigned to a cruise ship.

Why did I choose HRM: I had no any intention to take this course but because I have failed my Civil Engineering examination and I had a few months to decide whether which course to take; I guess the nature has pushed me and led me to this course. At first I have found some of the minor subjects repetitive as I have studied some of them when I was in High School such Chemistry, Rizal etc most of the Major Subjects have attracted me to be inclined with it most of my time in college.

I remember that I have joined Knorr cooking competition and have won second place with my group, it was so unforgettable. But there were lots of them who have joined the programme and have went to Singapore to pursue their OJT. My classmates told me not to wait for it as they will not definitely call me and join them in a 3 star Hotel in Malate and finish my more than hours requirement with them which I did.

But Oakwood calls and the rest was history. But no regret at all, I have still graduated! My current job: I am currently the Director of Revenue Management in one of the chain of hotel here in the Pacific. Am I using what I learned in college: College are more on theories and explorations, it has prepared me to perform well in my actual first job.

How long did it take to find a job: Right after my OJT. Currently at 33 I am enjoying my life and I have a chance to travel abroad and have invested for my early retirement. For you to get a good position and a good package in a certain company try to study Revenue Management and any other related expertise such Rooms Management in a popular training schools here and abroad.

Normally interested and passionate individuals are those getting the most jobs available in the market and the non-performing individuals are mostly counted as unemployed. About my college education: Fore me BS HRM is not more on theories rather engaging more on skills cooking, baking, skirting, etc.

It has relevance to tourism. If there is tourists or excursionist there is accommodation, food, activities which drives to profit. When I was as student, I enjoyed a lot with my course because it's not so difficult although there are subjects that I find it difficult. I would say that BS HRM is fun to be with as you will engage in a lot of travels and cooking but the negative side is expensive course I believe. In order for you to succeed this course, you have to be determined as this will require a lot physical work specially if you will be working in dining area.

You have to be smart as well as this involves business. In a service industry you have to be courteous, polite and kind to your guests. My current job: My current job is customer service agent. I am assisting customers if they concerns, queries, complaint with regard to our product. Am I using what I learned in college: Although, I did not end up working in a hotel nevertheless, there is a relevance still as my job involves service.

And, we Filipinos are in demand in service industry because we are naturally polite and hospitable people. I believe that is our edge towards others race. Working in a hotel in fulling as well especially when you step up and become a manager in the future.

As to salary level, there are a lot of money in this industry as we are receiving service charge and tips aside from our basic salary. Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: Before taking up this course, evaluate first you hobby and skills.

You have do research what is this course all about so that you will regret in the future, you might end up shifting course and that's waste of time. About my college education: Studying this course would help build confidence and personality: mental, physical and social. You'll learn a lot of etiquette and principles on public and private behavior.

All you need to have is personal cleanliness and gut. In this course, being wholesome and beautiful is not a requirement, for as long as you know how to manage yourself, you're confident and smart, you are what they need.
