The table seems to be just a great catch all - especially at Christmas - it's where presents are put until Christmas Eve - and we don't have children - the tradition just stuck. Our great room - open to the kitchen - has a perfect niche - created by the back door being brought in about 10' or there-about - and maybe 8' wide. It creates a perfect space that we keep a small eating table for 4 for when we have meals hard to cut sitting in front of the tv. Use one room as dressing room, another as studio.
Actually I gave it to my valet who then gave it to my butler who then gave it to the groundskeeper who then gave it to the groomsmen and they gave it to the stable boy who told the plumber to "shove it". As a kid, we had a wall-mounted toothbrush and water cup holder. So all 4 in the family hung theirs there. Later when my parents remodeled, they were kept in the vanity drawer. As an adult, I started brushing my teeth in the shower.
